چکیده
In this study, the effects of initial bacterial load (102 , 104 and 106 cells/ml) dechlorination idiosyncrasy on efficacy varying concentrations (0.018–0.126% v/v applied for 30 minutes) a point-of-use chlorine-based proprietary disinfectant (WaterCare®) were investigated in drinking water. Results indicated that higher cell populations significantly affected disinfectant.Subsequent disinfected water resulted resuscitation bacteria. This was demonstrated after 1440 minutes post-dechlorination Salmonella typhi at least 120 Escherichia coli, Proteus vulgaris Shigella dysenteriae, particularly lower (0.018–0.054% v/v). Thus, whilst use WaterCare® recommended dosage(0.072% or 10 ml to 25 litres clean may produce microbiologically safe high microbial post-disinfection residual chlorine loss limit its efficacy.

A Survey on Drinking Water Contamination to Indicator Bacteria in Dairy Farms of Mashhad Suburb
BACKGROUND: Microbial quality of drinking water is very important in animal health. OBJECTIVES: The present survey was conducted to evaluate the microbial quality of cows' drinking water in dairy farms in Mashhad suburb, Iran, to find out defects in this field. METHODS: Water samples were taken from 30 farms and 4 sites including: Water tanks, inlet and outlet of bovine drinking troughs and c...
متن کاملRelationships between common water bacteria and pathogens in drinking-water
6 Relationships between common water bacteria and pathogens in drinking-water H. Leclerc 6.1 INTRODUCTION To perform a risk analysis for pathogens in drinking-water, it is necessary, on the one hand, to promote epidemiological studies, such as prospective cohort and case–control studies. It is also appropriate, on the other hand, to better understand the ecology of these microorganisms, especia...
متن کاملRisk of hypertension and reduced kidney function after acute gastroenteritis from bacteria-contaminated drinking water.
BACKGROUND The long-term health consequences of acute bacterial gastroenteritis remain uncertain. We studied the risk of hypertension and reduced kidney function after an outbreak of acute gastroenteritis due to contamination of a regional drinking water supply with Escherichia coli O157:H7 and Campylobacter species. METHODS A total of 1958 adults with no known history of hypertension or kidn...
متن کاملIsolation and Identification of Pathogenic Bacteria from Drinking Water
Drinking water microbiological quality was primarily determined by enumeration of “indicator organisms”, whose presence indicates faecal contamination. The presence of the indicators is often a key in assessing potential public health risks due to bacterial pathogens and is used in drinking water quality regulations and guidelines in many countries. The enumeration of fecal coliform specificall...
متن کاملCharacterization of dysgonic, heterotrophic bacteria from drinking water.
Only a small percentage of the heterotrophic bacteria encountered in water distribution systems are identifiable, because of these organisms fail to grow on the conventional media used for biochemical characterization. Organisms that would not subculture from the same standard plate count agar used for initial isolation were successfully subcultured on a low-nutrient medium, R3A. These cultures...
